Peony love…

12:29 am by kim 25 Comments

Hi  everyone!
Just wanted to share my beautiful white peonies with you!

Aren’t they lovely?
What could be better than a bouquet of beautiful scented peonies…other than hydrangeas, cabbage roses, tulips in the spring, lol.

They look great in any container but especially nice in a large vintage ironstone pitcher.

These are one of the first perennials I ever planted.
I had them for about ten years in our old house and when we moved to our current home five years ago, I dug this little lady up and brought her with me.
It took a couple of years for her to get used to her new home but she turned out spectacular this year.

The scent is simply amazing and it brings back so many memories of early summers when my kids were young.

I usually get a couple of bouquets out of her every year.

I try to leave some blooms left on the plant so the neighbors can enjoy them too.
I also heard that you shouldn’t cut all the blooms off, not sure on the rationale behind that though.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my peonies with you!
Hope you all have a blessed week!

So pretty, they are my absolute fav. I have a pink bush and this year was given a white bush for mother's day, it has one solitary bud on it! I was told they don't flower the first year after they are planted, but that wasn't true, and I usually end up cutting all my blooms to enjoy in the house, and it still comes back every year. So far mine haven't been too temperamental, can't wait for them to bloom!!

Love love love peonies. My first white and pink opened one blossom each yesterday so I took pictures right away. I've got 4 plants – one white, two medium pink and one dark pink and I am totally in love with all of them. In a few days I can bring a few blossoms into the house. Thanks for sharing such great pictures.

I must say, I am quite envious since I can't grow peonies here in Southern California! If I could, I would definitely grow white ones like yours…they are absolutely beautiful.

I love peonies too! Yours are beautiful! Mine are just about to explode and I am so excited. When my Mom died, I planted peonies (her favorite!) in my yard. Unfortunately, when we moved two years ago, we had to stay in a hotel for a few weeks before getting in our new house, so I wasn't able to take them with me. I planted several in this yard and think of my Mom every time I see them. πŸ™‚

    Thanks for sharing.

Love these photos and the white peonies, one of my favorite flowers! If only the scent could be bottled. There's nothing like it.
