Christmas 2012

9:54 pm by kim 15 Comments

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping all your Christmas preparations are going well!
I’ve been waiting on some good lighting to be able to shoot some pics but it’s
been so grey around here and then it’s almost dark at 4!
Anyways…here are some shots I took today.

Hubby went a little crazy with the saw this year and I had a lot of space under the tree
so I used an old red toile curtain panel as a tree skirt and placed all my lanterns around it.

I placed my buckets that usually flank the fireplace in each of the bookcases. They look great there
and save some floorspace around the fireplace.

The Buckets with the branch lights on/off.

In the breakfast nook I put up some garland on the botttom shelf again. I found some lovely old tarnished spoons at the GW
and tied them with some brown satin ribbon.

I have these little mercury glass containers that I filled with foam oasis and stuck
in some winter greens. The watered oasis foam keeps them fresh.

I have a brown theme going on in the breakfast nook but couldn’t restrain myself from
putting in a little red,  It’s so bright and festive!

I’ve just added some sugar pinecones and mercury glass ornaments to the shelves.
The candle holders are all from PB that my daughters got me a couple of years ago.
They go with everything
I’ve placed birch poles all around and added some more green with the paperwhites.

Hopefully it will be brighter tomorrow and I’ll be able to show you
the mantels.

Thanks for dropping by,
blessings to you!
I

So pretty! I really like the large scale mercury glass ornaments you've used in the kitchen. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying some I saw earlier this week.

Really pretty—is that real live garland? Where do you get it and does it keep fresh?
